Dr. Ahmed Hussain 何迈德博士

首席教育官
何迈德博士现任AISL首席教育官,负责领导集团旗下的哈罗学校在亚洲的教育方针和营运。同时,何迈德博士是英国杜伦大学教育学院副教授,研究期刊《国际教育理论与实践》的编委。他也是上海浦东教育局专家组成员,以及英国特许教师学院院士。
专业和研究经验
何迈德博士的工作生涯始于在诺丁汉大学担任博士后研究科学家和讲师,及后在杜伦大学教育学院接受科学教师培训。在担任多个教学和领导职位后,何迈德博士获任命为杜伦大学教育讲师,领导教师培训和发展工作,教授硕士和教育学课程,并在课程分析、评估和教师专业发展领域进行研究。何迈德博士先后在英国和迪拜学校担任不同高级领导职位,并参与了阿布扎比的教育改革项目,有机会领导若干高级领导和教师专业发展项目,并为阿联酋学校领导和教师国家标准的制订和推广工作提供支持。何迈德博士随后转到中国惠灵顿学院担任校长,在中国惠灵顿发展成为区域和国际领先的教育集团方面发挥了关键作用。

首先要感谢诺奖创新论坛组织者京领,我很高兴能够代表AISL哈罗学校支持并参与本次活动。作为本次论坛的铺垫,我想先谈谈我们作为教育工作者、学校和学校集团如何携手合作,最大限度地发挥我们的工作对学生的影响。
中国的教育事业有着辉煌悠久的历史,两千多年来培养了一代又一代英才。中国教育以“严谨”著称,这反映在PISA、TIMSS等国际测试中的优异成绩上。然而,近年来,中国一直在进行大刀阔斧的教育改革,这恰好为我们创造了一个契机,让我们携起手来,对中国学生可获得的机会产生深刻影响。
在2022年新修订的义务教育课程中,预期教育成果发生了很大变化。在一如既往强调严谨治学和学术卓越的同时,还加大了对以下方面的承诺和重视:
首先,增强对中华民族的认同感。其次,关注学生福祉。第三,确保课程理念、目标、实施和评估之间的一致性,学生具备批判思考、解决问题、独立行事和抗逆能力。最后,课程具有很大的灵活性,我们可以根据知识本质和学生需求提供相应的学习机会。
英国教育同样历史悠久,这里有全球最古老的大学和学校。英国的教育制度也以严谨和对重要考试的重视为标志,与中国教育的核心原则高度契合。作为英国最古老的学校之一,哈罗公学今年正式迈入了创校450周年。AISL哈罗学校秉承伦敦哈罗公学的价值观和教育理念,我们的目标也是培养个性鲜明,即拥有强烈自我意识的学生,帮助他们了解自身在世界上所处的位置。这一点与强调民族认同感的中国国家课程不谋而合。我们认为,这为学生创造了一个平台,并赋予他们在学校内外取得成功所需的能力和态度。

English Version
Id like to start by thanking KingLead, the organizer of the Nobel Innovation Forum. We, AISL Harrow, are delighted to be able to support and contribute to this event. To set the scene for the forum, Id like to consider how we as educators, schools, and school groups can come together and work to maximize the impact of our work on students.
China has a deep history of education. It has been educating its populace for more than 2,000 years. And its education system is synonymous with rigor, symbolized by high levels of outcomes in international education systems, such as PISA or TIMSS. However, China is embracing an ambitious education reform agenda, and this serves as a great opportunity for us to come together to have a deep impact on the opportunities of children in this nation.
Chinese national curriculum for 2022 involves significant changes and desired outcomes from the education system. Whilst rigor and academic excellence are all retained, there is a very deep commitment and emphasis on the following:
One is establishing a strong Chinese identity. The second is a focus on student well-being. Thirdly, there is a focus on aligning curriculum philosophy, objectives, implementation, and how we assess the product of that education system. It is desired that students acquire the skills of criticality, problem-solving, independence, and resilience. Finally, there is a great flexibility to the curriculum so that we can provide learning opportunities that reflect the nature of the knowledge and the needs of our students.
Education in England also has a deep history, with the oldest universities and the oldest schools across the globe located in England. The education system is also symbolized by rigor and the importance of high sticks exams, and therefore aligns very closely with the core principles of education in China.
Harrow is one of the oldest schools in England. It has been educating boys for 450 years in London. AISL Harrow shares the values in philosophy to education as the school in London. We too believe in developing students personal identities. That is a strong sense of self so that they know their position in the world. This aligns wonderfully with the Chinese national curriculum that focuses on Chinese identity. We think this creates a platform and give students the aptitudes and attitudes needed to be successful in school and beyond.
We focus on developing the leadership attributes of our students. We define this as being able to understand their own well-being and be able to make decisions on maximising and enhancing their well-being; to be able to work and operate with strongly developed interpersonal skills and a sophisticated understanding of culture and language; to be able to think and operate critically and creatively, to collaborate, to solve problems; to be able to have a strong sense of leadership and service. Ultimately, Harrow Schools provide academic excellence. Our students thrive in international examinations, in GCSE and A-Level, and go to the best universities across the globe.
This creates an interesting opportunity for public-private partnerships to exchange traditions, ideas, and knowledge. For local education systems to influence practices and education in private license schools or international schools. For private license schools and international schools to exchange ideas on holistic education, for developing student well-being, for promoting critical thinking, and problem-solving. We can exchange this with local schools and together create the conditions for the full implementation of education reform here in China.
AISL Harrows committed to such partnerships. We have a record of working with the municipality, province, and district level education systems, to exchange ideas and undertake research that benefits children here in China. We are committed to being part of the education community and fully contributing to these exciting and ambitious reforms that we are part of here in China.
